Our vision is to meet the growing demand for small satellite launches by combining proven technology derived from historic launch programmes such as Skylark and Black Arrow, with modern-day innovation in order to create cost-effective, responsive access to space.

Our plan to use Hydrogen Peroxide as our oxidiser is ideally suited to the UK, due to it's long term launch site storability without the need for cryogenics. This makes it particularly suitable for responsive launch, no matter what the Scottish weather brings!

The small satellite market is extremely strong, with a huge backlog waiting to be sent to space in order to carry out a number of vital tasks, such as gathering information to allow us to mitigate natural disasters, deter the global exploitation of resources and fight against global warming.

With the UK government aiming to capture 10% of the global space market, we believe now is the perfect time for a cost-effective launch provider to turn UK launch plans into reality. We know the UK's strengths and have spotted opportunities in the supply chain to bolster the sector at large. We simply can't wait to see our vehicles take off!

British heritage...evolved

Skyrora Limited is a UK company headquartered in Edinburgh, developing launch vehicle technology that has evolved from previous rocket systems. We aim to reduce the cost of space launches through the combination of proven technology and advanced engineering methods.

We will take a calculated, step-by-step approach that will see us develop a series of sounding rockets to test our technology at first, as we build towards our future orbital vehicle. We will be drawing on the experience and learnings of Britain's previous launch capability heritage, inspired in particular in our suborbital test development by Skylark. Moreover, our future orbital launcher has a number of similarities to Black Arrow, including the use of HTP and kerosene – the ideal combination for Scottish launch.

As part of our process, we are building a robust supply chain, creating new employment opportunities throughout our industrial sector and using our vision to inspire the next generation of STEM talent. With the future in mind, we have set up an Enabling Technologies Unit to identify opportunities in the local supply chain and, where possible, will take the opportunity to fill those gaps. We believe this is the key to creating a commercially viable and sustainable launch business.

Our determination to improve and evolve led us to partner with an innovative co-working centre based in Ukraine, where forward-thinking, dynamic individuals gather to resolve scientific tasks, as well as supply chain mapping and market analysis. This partnership enables us to provide talented specialists, many of whom are just out of university, with the opportunity to grow professionally and put their knowledge to practical use.

We are focused on making sure that Skyrora will blast off from UK soil and hope you'll come along for the ride!

Diverse group ranging from recent graduates to experienced rocket engineers, and everything in between!

We blend proven British launch technology with additive manufacturing to create cost-effective propulsion systems.

We're based in Scotland, close to customers & prospective launch sites. We have an oxidiser facility in England & co-working centre in Ukraine.
